Community Services Certificate III Cost

Our flexible payment options and funding access allows us to give students the best possible chance of studying in their chosen field.

At the Aurora Training Institute, students can access Queensland Government funding under the Certificate 3 Guarantee Program. Students must not have undertaken any previous certifications and can only receive funding for one course, so it’s important to take this into consideration before applying.


Under the Certificate 3 Guarantee Program, eligible students are only required to pay a $24 Student Contribution Fee, which is $2 per unit (concessional and non-concessional). To be eligible for funding, students must:

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or hold temporary resident status with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency.
  • Be a permanent Queensland resident aged 15 or above.
  • No longer be in school (with the exception of VET-in-school students).
  • Not have completed or be enrolled in a Certificate III or higher qualification (not including qualifications attained at school).

A student’s employment status does not impact their eligibility for Community Services course funding.

Certificate III in Community Services Course Requirements

Students studying for a CHC32015 — Certificate III in Community Services are required to complete 12 units, including 5 core units and 7 elective units. Each unit is designed to give students practical skills in working with a diverse range of people in a range of environments to prepare them for a role in community care.

  • CHCCOM005 Communicate and work in health or community services
  • CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people
  • HLTWHS002 Follow safe work practices for direct client care
  • HLTWHS006 Manage personal stressors in the work environment

  • BSBTWK201 Work effectively with others
  • BSBWOR301 Organise personal work priorities and development
  • CHCADV001 Facilitate the interests and rights of clients
