In my senior years of high school I completed, a Certificate 2 and 3 in Hospitality, Certificate 3 in Agriculture, Certificate 3 in Business Administration (school based traineeship) and a Diploma of Business. The Certificate 3 in Agriculture was through SCOTS PGC College, all other qualifications were completed through Aurora Training Institute. I choose to complete these courses as they would be key qualifications in progressing in my career, with my strong passion for Agriculture and Business. It was the passion and knowledge of Kirsten Fisher from Aurora that I continued to study and progress with Aurora and VET Qualifications. I have a strong passion for business but sitting in a classroom trying to learn from a white board was just not for me, I was then directed towards a school-based traineeship, I landed a job with Catalyst Accounting and Tax where I worked every Wednesday for year 11 and 12. Through this practical learning and the support of Kirsten Fisher, the VET program at school and my employer I discovered a greater passion for business and study. At the end of year 11 I sat down with those helping me through my training and I said I wanted to do more, progress further, I was pointed in the direction of a Diploma of Business. Robyn Cavanough from Aurora provided a wealth of knowledge and experience at this higher level of study, resulting in a love and ease of completion of my Diploma of Business. In the past year of completing this study alongside my senior studies it has greatened my academic potential and time management but has also opened many opportunities for building my career. At the conclusion of year 12 I was offered full time employment with my employer in her new company, I worked in a two-person team to participate in all aspects of the business operation. I have learnt so much in the last few years from my training and Aurora Training and this will stay with me for my entire career. With such a positive experience that my training has been, I have been able to recommend the VET program at school, Aurora Training Institute, Business Qualifications and Traineeships.
