What is a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care?

A CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care is a Queensland accreditation that qualifies you to work in a child care setting in the state. You’ll learn important skills to care for and nurture the early development of children, babies and toddlers, including being able to:

  • Support their learning and development.
  • Provide first aid.
  • Work within legal and ethical frameworks.
  • Identify and respond to children at risk.
  • Support play-based learning activities.
  • Nurture appropriate behaviour of children.
  • Address nutrition for children.

Who is eligible to study a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care

To be eligible to study for a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care, you will need:

  • A Blue Card for Working With Children (required before placement)

You will need to attain your Blue Card before you can take part in your vocational placement

Course Requirements (QLD Students)

To receive your CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care, you’ll need to complete 15 core units, 2 elective units and 160 hours of practical vocational placement in a regulated children’s education and care service in Australia. Your total number of hours may be applied collectively across the units below marked with an asterisk (*) that includes the requirement for workplace hours.
